I’ve had the opportunity to read the replies of our entire WSY family.  I am in total agreement with the views expressed by our Board of Trustees and the numerous posters/commenters who clearly saw what W.E.E. have been seeing for months.

CarolinaGirl and Miranda have written strong posts, (“The President is NOT Your Boyfriend,” and “The Return of the Pent-Up Puma,” respectively) which best articulate how W.E.E. feel about your caucasian benefactors and more importantly, your decision to be so closely “hugged-up” and aligned with them.

Whether you all–JJP, FDL & HuffPo–have had special “strategy” sessions or talking-points conference calls is beyond my knowledge.

HERE is what I do know.  Our WSY Bloggers have proven that your posts and the cumulative impact of your “blogging” was totally synchronized with Firedoglake and the Huffington Post.  Your preceding actions have spoken louder than your most “recent” words.

However, what saddens me the most in your recent replies is that you make no clear statement (or amends) to work toward the best interests of your people. You clearly care more about disproving the predominately-white MSM’s fallacies about your people (at the expense of disheartening your people) rather than working to strengthen and embolden the collective power of your people.  That is very disappointing.

You claim to serve your people by using a sophisticated, oblique approach to, “give the Administration the air cover to push issues forward since it’s clearer that they have public support or helps them refine their positioning.”

First, your “claim” begs a few questions:  Who is the primary (majority) audience of JJP?

Is it white independents who need proof that President Obama must compromise with his progressive base?  Is it white-liberal progressives who need specific talking-points from Hamsher and Huffington?  OR IS IT African Americans who trusted JJP at a minimum to be impartial about President Obama if you could not at least declare your strong support for him.  JJP failed its primary audience miserably.

Secondly, your claim of support is OVERIDDEN by the tone and demeanor of posts entitled, “What President Obama is doing WRONG,” and by calling the President a “Sellout Punk.” Somewhere along the way, Rikyrah lost her “TinFoil” hat for detecting evil intentions.

As has already been proven, JJP attempted to sow seeds of fear and doubt about President Obama to a people whose greatest weapon has always been HOPE.  FEAR did NOT bring us thus far.  HOPE brought us thus far. In essence, you betrayed us–your people.

I would invite you to watch the “Lift Every Voice & Sing” video embedded on our front page to remind you of how our people suffered and what our people ultimately had to do in order to succeed in this society.  “Losing Faith” and attempting to dispirit your own people will never be a part of any successful equation.

In the end, we are all thankful to live in a free society where freedom of speech is a right.  For too long, the blogosphere has not reflected the “true” voice of the majority of African Americans in this country (not just the most affluent and connected).

W.E.E. will be committed to serving our people.  As for JJP, W.E.E. will keep our eyes open and continually hope that you amend your ways.
