My strangest Christmas present? It had to be from my mother-in-law, bless her heart, RIP. She knew that I collected Black Santa’s, so she gave me one for Christmas a few years ago. It was the scariest thing I ever saw. He was in a red and white suit, and was sitting in a rocking chair…. he rocked AND played music…she already had the batteries in it, of course.

The only problem, was in the way they made his body. His legs came down to the floor, but both his arms were too short for his body. Hence the fact that my husband, after his mom had gone home, named him ‘hatchet-armed-Santa‘. ;-)

From that point on, he was just like that gnome you see on the Travelocity commercials. Our game was to secretly place HA-Santa in different places to make people laugh. One time my daughter and I drove to my husbands job, and placed HA-Santa in the drivers seat with the seat belt on! Then we left, and laughed our azzes off. Another time, when my daughter came home from college for spring break, we placed HA-Santa on her pillow with the covers pulled up around his body, with only his head and arms sticking out!

My WSY sister, Shanti want me to share this story with ya’ll…So you better watch out…don’t be surprised if HA-Santa shows up on your doorstep one day…and you better have some cookies and milk ready for him! ;-)
