Single Mother Escapes Decade Of Alleged Slavery In Texas

DALLAS — She was a widow in a Nigerian village trying to raise six children when she says she met a man who told her he and his wife needed a nanny for their newborn. If she came with them to Texas, they would help support her children financially, give her free room and board, and pay $100 a month, the woman says she was told.

For a mother who couldn't read or write, lived in poverty and needed to buy her eldest daughter medication for sickle-cell anemia, it seemed like a desperately needed opportunity.

Instead, the woman alleges the couple – fellow Nigerians Emmanuel and Ngozi Nnaji – took her travel documents when she arrived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Dec. 11, 1997, and forced her to work 16 hours daily with no days off for nine years.

The couple monitored her calls to family in Nigeria, refused to let her return home, didn't pay her and failed to support her children as promised, authorities say. Emmanuel Nnaji also repeatedly raped her, according to a grand jury indictment handed up this week in Fort Worth.

This has been all over the wires for the last 2 days. The story about the charges, that is, the lady escaped almost 4 years ago, but that only merited a few blurbs in the news. The lady is lucky she got out alive.

Not an uncommon situation, sadly. In the States it is typically Nigerians, Egyptians, SAs, Kuwaitis and UAE who play the slave game. Those also happen to be the countries that have large numbers of slaves in country; mostly Indonesian and Malaysian in the ME, sub-Saharan Africans in Egypt, and members of smaller, less powerful tribes in Nigeria. For the most part, the countries that have been most involved in the slave trade for centuries.

Yeah....Tiger has sullied up the pristine sport of Golf...yeah right. Tiger has disgraced this most honorable of games...yeah...ok.....John Daly's alcoholic whoring fat azz gets a wink wink nudge nudge but Tiger has disgraced golf....uh huh.....Tiger has disrespected a sport that up until HE joined the tour was still playing at country clubs where the only minorities there was cooking, cleaning and mowing the damn lawns but Tiger has disrespected all that....sure....GIMME A DAMN BREAK. If they want Tiger to be punished for cheating on his wife, then they better punished several other players as well, cuz from what I've read the golf groupies run rampant at the golf tournaments.

According to the dude that wrote that infamous GQ article on Tiger, errbody knew that he was a ho. But he wasn't kicking their ass like he is now. They thought he was a noveltly and would fade away, so they said nothing. But since that article, he -- like you said -- has become golf and that's why they want to punish him. They're punishing him for being a BLACK MAN that snatched their sport away from them.

I still think it's effed up that they are ignoring that Tiger is a victim of domestic violence (And I could be wrong, but my spidey senses are telling me that Elin, her twin and their momma are setting Tiger up). I also think it's effed up that they're taking the words of a bunch of professional jumpoffs as gospel. Did he cheat? Hell yeah! But did he cheat with all of these whores that have surfaced? I don't think so.

A friend of mine is an avid golfer and follows the sport religiously and he was just telling me today about the golf groupies and that most of the top players are married to ex-strippers and "hostesses" and you do not need Ludacris to tell you that you can't turn a ho into a housewife...it is common knowledge that they are a sleazy bunch.

I was actually thisclose to touring the White House today, but my Congresscritter's office couldn't come thru with the tickets (they were supposed to swap with another Congresscritter's office to get them). Sucks because I would have loved to see my 7 y.o. nephew take it all in (PBO is his hero big time). Oh well, they said I can make another request starting in February. So keeping my fingers crossed for December 10, 2010...I have my heart set on seeing the place all done up in Xmas decorations.
