I'm just saying. You have your reasons for doing what you do and apparently so does Oprah. Besides, Oprah didn't need to give Palin any hard questions. Palin sees Russia from her house, says Putin is rearing his head by flying into her air space and home girl doesn't even know which magazines she reads . . . .

I don't need Oprah to tell me anything about this woman that we all don't already know. And I think Oprah handled it the right way. No drama, story is exactly as expected from Ms. Palin — all lies which can be easily verified and fact checked from any source including wikipedia and Oprah doesn't come off as an angry black woman, who is an Obama supporter, rich, powerful and unfairly beating up on poor Ms. Wasilla.

But it is okay to disagree and I appreciate that weeseeyou allows dissent.

To which a rather snarky Palin quipped, “No offense to you, but it wasn't the center of my universe.” Oh no she di-'int! Palin then added, “I've heard more about that during the last few weeks than during the campaign.” Clearly taken aback, an incredulous Winfrey asked, “You didn't even know about it?!” Wow. It was kind of painful to watch. It was as if Oprah was pleading, Wait, don't you know who I am? I am Oprah…Winfrey….I elect presidents…I turn no-name authors into superstars….I make middle-aged, middle-American white women swoon more than Josh Groban! Talking about the book on Oprah, Palin said there was no family vote on the vice presidency. She told Sean Hannity in 2008 that she had held a vote.

Palin misrepresents the timeline of her daughter's pregnancy, saying she was surprised the McCain campaign knew about it when she'd already told vetters.

Palin points the finger at McCain aides for her $150,000 shopping spree. No one who was in the campaign backs her version of events.

In the book, Palin blames the McCain campaign staff for botching her public appearances and not letting her speak freely. In an email, she blamed herself and thanked them for their hard work.

Palin writes that the McCain campaign made her pay for her own vetting. A campaign official said that it is “one hundred percent untrue.”

Palin falsely suggests she doesn't support aerial hunting. In fact, Palin supports the practice and introduced a bill in 2007 to “simplify and clarify Alaska's intensive management law… for the state's 'same day airborne hunting' law.”

I must say, it's extremely disappointing to me to see these powerful women treat this woman like she's on their level.

As for Couric’s response to Palin’s memoir — in which the former Alaska governor claims the newswoman was “badgering” during their infamous September interview — Hiltzik says, “The interview speaks for itself.”
