Did you feel snubbed that I hadn't invited you to be on the show during the campaign?, Winfrey immediately asked The Wasilla Wonder. To which a rather snarky Palin quipped, "No offense to you, but it wasn't the center of my universe." Oh no she di-'int! Palin then added, "I've heard more about that during the last few weeks than during the campaign." Clearly taken aback, an incredulous Winfrey asked, "You didn't even know about it?!" Wow. It was kind of painful to watch. It was as if Oprah was pleading, Wait, don't you know who I am? I am Oprah...Winfrey....I elect presidents...I turn no-name authors into superstars....I make middle-aged, middle-American white women swoon more than Josh Groban! Are you telling me you didn't obsess about me when you were on the campaign trail? Shocking! Truly shocking!

But we all know Palin was lying to save face. It was her team that whined and complained to the media that Oprah wouldn't have her on the show. They were trying to piss off her white female viewers.

Talking about the book on Oprah, Palin said there was no family vote on the vice presidency. She told Sean Hannity in 2008 that she had held a vote.

Palin misrepresents the timeline of her daughter's pregnancy, saying she was surprised the McCain campaign knew about it when she'd already told vetters.

Palin points the finger at McCain aides for her $150,000 shopping spree. No one who was in the campaign backs her version of events.

In the book, Palin blames the McCain campaign staff for botching her public appearances and not letting her speak freely. In an email, she blamed herself and thanked them for their hard work.

Palin writes that the McCain campaign made her pay for her own vetting. A campaign official said that it is "one hundred percent untrue."

Palin falsely suggests she doesn't support aerial hunting. In fact, Palin supports the practice and introduced a bill in 2007 to "simplify and clarify Alaska's intensive management law... for the state's 'same day airborne hunting' law."

Saw the Barbara Walters interview with Palin on GMA. Palin said that she never said that she could see Russia from her house, and Walters not only let her get away with that lie, but she covered for her, trying to explain what Palin really meant. All BW had to do was run the Charlie Gibson interview to shut down that lie.

I must say, it's extremely disappointing to me to see these powerful women treat this woman like she's on their level.

Why would anyone voluntarily watch that drivel? I know I certainly won't.

lol but ya'll should probably consider cutting Oprah some slack on this one after all she is an entertainer and not a politician or a reporter. Besides if it was that bad why would we give Palin any more free press by posting all the clips and the Oprah pic on weeseeyou? I'm just saying. :-)

As far as cutting her some slack, I disagree. Oprah has a tremendous amount of media power, and she's using it to promote a person who is the antithesis of everything she has stood for and preached on her show.

Imma cut Oprah some slack alright. Beck is an entertainer and not a politician or reporter either, yet he gets on the air and does what he damn well pleases. And it is often to the detriment of what is fair and decent.

As far as I'm concerned, Oprah sold out by putting that on her tv couch and didn't call her out for the race-baiting bullshit from last year, her whinning and blaming, whoring her kids.... should I go on?

Oprah has done far tougher interviews with folks who FUCKED UP! Remember that guy who wrote "A Million Little Pieces?" He exaggerated some of the facts in that memior. Oprah chewed his ass out, because she plugged his book, had him on her show. She spent a better part of that show face to face with dude, chewing out his ass.

Sarah Palin could have been the VPOTUS, perish that thought. Oprah sold the fuck out, by not asking this bitch the tough questions. She had an opportunity for good, straight forward interview with Palin and she sold out to the white female viewership for ratings and profit. That.is.all.

You have your reasons for doing what you do and apparently so does Oprah and that is all good. From a reporting perspective if you think about it . . . .Oprah didn't need to give Palin any hard questions. Palin sees Russia from her house, says Putin reared his head by flying into her air space and home girl doesn't even know which magazines/newspapers she reads.

Oprah really couldn't tell me anything about this woman that we all didn't already know. Besides I think Oprah handled it the right way. No drama, story is exactly as expected from Ms. Palin -- all lies which can be easily verified and fact checked from any source including wikipedia and Oprah doesn't come off as an angry black woman, who is an Obama supporter, rich, powerful and unfairly beating up on poor Ms. Wasilla.

i've watched oprah for as long as i can remember, but she pretty much lost a fan today. any so-called interview with sarah palin that DID NOT include a serious question about her fear/hate-mongering during the campaign was a waste of airtime and a complete disaster! oprah basically sympathised with palin. she never called her on any of her bullshit self-pity. it was a total and complete mess!!! i can't believe that oprah allowed herself to disgrace her show and reputation in this way. low ratings or not, this was a huge mistake on oprah's part. her ratings are sure to tank now.

She asked her questions from the book as if they were facts, challenging her on essentially nothing. She even kept repeating, "you wrote the book..." when she knows damn well she didn't write that book. When Sarah told her she's kept journals all of her life (clearly well preped by her new team that Oprah would love to hear that) I thought Oprah was going to hug her and say, "we are soul mates." At the very least, she could have defended Katie Couric as a fellow journalist.

Wait until Palin starts trashing Oprah, and she will eventually, because we know this woman blames everyone and everything on anyone but herself.

Oprah totally dropped the ball by not defending Couric. She let Palin get away with suggesting that Couric was being politically bias and bias against Alaskans. It was ridiculous! Oprah should've brought up her interview with Charlie Gibson, which was BEFORE Couric's interview and exposed her for the dumbass she is.

She should've challenged Palin on Bristol's pregnancy. Palin wasn't going to reveal that girl's pregnancy, but when the rumors started flying on the internet, she had no choice but to come clean. When McCain held the rally to introduce Palin ashis running mate, Bristol was there hiding her pregnancy with a big ass gray blanket covering her. Hell! Oprah showed the clip and said nothing!

Palin was complaining about the criticism she received for those expensive clothes, saying that it was sexism. Oprah should've pointed out to her that the criticism came because campaign funds paid for them and because she portrayed herself as just a simple hockey mom from Alaska.

Oprah let her get away with the complaint about not being able to give a concession speech on election night. Palin lied and said that she has seen losing VP candidates give concession speeches.

And what really ticks me off is that Oprah didn't ask her about those rallies, which were nothing more than Klan rallies.

This is the 2nd time Paiin or her camp has made the accusation that the Obama administration had operatives in AK digging for dirt on her and the media--and now Oprah--hasn't challenged her to prove it, "We came back [from the campaign] to a new normal in Alaska. Everything had so changed in my administration...There were so many opposition researchers up there in Alaska that were sent, probably, by the Obama camp. ... It was a point where my state of Alaska was being hampered by my presence there."

This interview....oh wait...this PR stunt was beyond disappointing.
