No. 1 'Bama blocks last-second FG to win
Alabama's Mount Cody proved too big for Tennessee to kick over. Terrence Cody, the Crimson Tide's 350-pound nose guard, blocked a 44-yard field-goal attempt on the final play and No. 1 Alabama escaped with a 12-10 victory over the rival Volunteers on Saturday. Cody broke through the line on the last play and practically ran into Daniel Lincoln's low kick. Relieved Alabama fans chanted "Cody" as the All-American ambled toward the locker room.

Very touching love story!

Detroit Pistons baller Jason Maxiell (26) married his longtime fiance Brandi Duncan in Dallas back in August. Brandi battled Ovarian cancer two years ago and won with Jason by her side. He shaved his own head bald when she had to be bald herself because of the chemo. Definitely a fab love story for the two.

This also made me think of Edgerrin James, his girlfriend lost her battle with leukemia in April and he wouldn't sign with a team until after school started this fall so he could take his kids on their first day.

Yeah, that congressional race in NY may be one of the bright spots on election day.

If Norwood wins the ATL mayoral race without a runoff, then ALL-EYES-GONNA-BE-ON-SHIRLEY. President Obama may whisk her off to a nice federal appointment, but she'll leave the city in the wrong hands.
